About our Speaker:
A native of Southern California Ed Horcasitas began his career in the Military where he was deployed oversees as part of US ARMY Ranger Team tasked with the prevention of a second attempt of the taking of Kuwait. Awarded National Defense Medal and Bronze Service Star. Ed continued
to lead teams to achieve greatness in IT.
Starting at the help desk level, Ed worked his way up the chain of command in within 3 months to become a manager of Toyota’s Field IT Division for Remote Support. Mentored by Toyota Directors, Ed was quickly promoted to Logistics Project Manager where he found his most valuable strength... getting things done! With the technology background, team building experience and creativity, Ed found himself managing the largest projects for company’s such as Home Depot, Nissan, Hulu, Honda, Bank of America and others. He has a total of over 20 years of IT and successful Project/Program Management experience.
Ed is married to his beautiful wife Nataly and are extremely happy with their new 11 month old daughter. Ed enjoys playing hockey and donates time to the National Sheriffs’ Assoc. to help provide Law Enforcement with Technology Solutions.
Topic Description:
This presentation will provide some best practices and known pitfalls of navigating the Clarity and Open Workbench PPM. The knowledge provided in this presentation will provide project managers with very important guides on how to best utilize the tools.
Areas covered will be some basic areas of resource allocation, financial planning, project documentation, resource management and many other areas of the tools.
Ed will also cover some very important pitfalls to stay away from such as making changes before taking a quick back up of Open Workbench via Excel. Also, how to make sure you are zeroing out or moving allocation hours.
There will also be a segment for Q&A to help PMs that have questions regarding specific use cases.
